But who will save us from them?

**Written by Doug Powers

Did you see the Dem debate last night? Because my Saturday nights aren't nearly as fun as they used to be, I actually did see it. The DNC is scheduling debates on nights when they know not many people will watch, so the next Dem debate will probably be opposite the Super Bowl in February.

Here's an open thread for those who did see it, or to talk about whatever you'd like as we head towards Christmas.

A few Dem debate-related thoughts to get things started...

*****

Bernie Sanders apologized to Hillary Clinton after some campaign staffers were caught gaining access to her campaign's voter data. The DNC is still looking into it, but Hillary quickly accepted Bernie's apology and moved on. For some reason Hillary didn't want to dig deeper into the topic of ethical investigations -- go figure!

*****

Martin O'Malley was mocked even by liberals for his performance last night. Maybe that's because, as the only candidate among the three who's not under some sort of investigation, he just doesn't fit in! Plus even progressives are leery of his "Make the Entire Country Baltimore" slogan.

One topic of discussion was of course making going to college either "free" or graduating without owing any money. From the kind of people whose grand visions have led to a $20 trillion national debt, I'd sooner take financial advice from Nicolas Cage.

Coming from Hillary, this is something else:

Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton lit into Republican frontrunner Donald Trump during the ABC News Democratic primary debate in Manchester, N.H., on Saturday night.

“He is becoming ISIS’s best recruiter,” she said. “They are going to people, showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists.”

Nah, the terrorists are still too busy laughing at Hillary & company blaming Benghazi on a video and later attributing the spread of ISIS to climate change and the NRA. It's pathetic that somebody who was actually in a position of power at a high level of the U.S. government is blaming somebody else for the horrific consequences of her failed leadership.

At one point, Hillary was a little late coming back after a commercial break:

null

"Often confused."

Here's a summary of what Bernie Sanders said last night:

Clinton closed the debate this way:

The culmination of Hillary's performance last night was a shout-out to the greatest works of fiction this country has ever known. Then she mentioned Star Wars.

Have a good Sunday all!
