CNN’s Democratic Debate was filled with promises of the wealthy paying more taxes–and these candidates should know! These Democratic presidential hopefuls share a tax bracket with the wealthiest people in this country.
A common tactic used by Democrats is to accuse Republicans of being the party of the wealthy, while lamenting that there is too much money in politics, even though they actually outspent conservative groups $97 million to $79 million during last year’s Senate Races.
Some fact checking reveals that these candidates are sitting pretty high on the hill! Here are the top candidates and how much their worth.
#1. Hillary R. Clinton
Last year, The Wall Street Journal estimated the combined net worth of Bill and Hillary Clinton to be roughly $55 Million. But given that, the estimates of Hillary’s wealth, specifically, is less clear.
The former Secretary of State is most likely a 1-percenter– even in the top 1% of the 1-percenters, in fact. According to 24/7 Wall St. Clinton’s single net worth is estimated to be at least $11 million.
