Disturbing’ videos? A talking point forgotten

‘Disturbing’ videos? A talking point forgotten

Two weeks ago, U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and former First Lady/Senator/Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called those Planned Parenthood baby organ harvesting videos “disturbing.” The two stayed disturbed about as long as a teenage boy does while watching his 28th horror movie.

For all the spin about the videos being “selectively edited” (full versions were released), these were not Hollywood fabrications. They showed actual Planned Parenthood staffers discussing the real-life practice of killing fully formed babies (not clumps of cells), cutting apart their bodies, and selling the parts. One video showed the body parts. A tiny human arm coldly treated like a frog leg in a high school biology class.

This is the chilling reality of the abortion industry. This is what it does every day. Crush. Puncture. Cut. Discard. Repeat.

Clinton and Shaheen at least had the human decency to acknowledge, momentarily, something instinctively, inherently unsettling about this. But they quickly refitted the inflexible partisan masks. A moment of humanity, then back to the “war on women.”

Now, though, it is clear that the fleeting moment of humanity was nothing more than another talking point. Lower the mask, flash an expression of grave concern, then lift the sword and continue the attack. All the while, at subsidized Planned Parenthood clinics, it continues. Crush. Puncture. Cut. Discard. Repeat.
