President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday blasted ObamaCare and Democrats, saying lawmakers from both parties must come together to create an effective healthcare plan.
"The Democrats, lead by head clown Chuck Schumer, know how bad ObamaCare is and what a mess they are in," the president-elect said in a tweet Thursday morning.
"Instead of working to fix it, they..do the typical political thing and BLAME," he said in a subsequent tweet.
Trump also said ObamaCare was a "lie from the beginning."
"'Keep you doctor, keep your plan!'" he tweeted.
"It is....time for Republicans & Democrats to get together and come up with a healthcare plan that really works - much less expensive & FAR BETTER!"
Throughout his presidential campaign, Trump vowed to repeal and replace ObamaCare, often slamming the president's signature domestic policy on the campaign trail.
In a series of tweets Wednesday, Trump said the GOP must hold the Democrats accountable for the impacts of ObamaCare.
He blasted ObamaCare for its "poor coverage and massive premium increases."
President Obama met Wednesday with Democrats on Capitol Hill and urged Democrats to fight Republican efforts to repeal ObamaCare.
During the trip to Capitol Hill, Obama challenged lawmakers to take on an uphill fight even as Vice President-elect Mike Pence met separately with House Republicans on the new administration's plans to repeal ObamaCare.
