Of course: Obama pins blame for colossal failure of his 'arm & train Syrian rebels' plan on GOP and... Hillary

**Written by Doug Powers

Back in September, President Obama committed hundreds of millions of dollars to arm and train rebels to fight terrorists in Syria as part of his "degrade and ultimately destroy" ISIS plan:

Fast forward the tape to this week. How many U.S.-trained rebels are now active because of that hundreds of millions spent on the "arm and train" program?

Four or five ISIS-fighting rebels are active... for hundreds of millions of dollars? Actually that's probably an average return-on-investment for this administration. And no, those four or five Syrian rebels the Obama admin spent hundreds of millions to train aren't currently fighting ISIS, but they haveopened a Solyndra branch in Damascus, so at least it's something.

True to the Obama administration's lack-of-leadership style and avoidance of responsibility, that failure isn't their fault:

By any measure, President Obama’s effort to train a Syrian opposition army to fight the Islamic State on the ground has been an abysmal failure. The military acknowledged this week that just four or five American-trained fighters are actually fighting.

But the White House says it is not to blame. The finger, it says, should be pointed not at Mr. Obama but at those who pressed him to attempt training Syrian rebels in the first place — a group that, in addition to congressional Republicans, happened to include former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Does Obama routinely sign things simply because congressional Republicans bug him about it? There might be hope for an Obamacare repeal after all.

As for Hillary, even though her pantsuit now smells like axle grease from the White House bus, she won't fire back or aggressively defend herself, because she knows she's dealing with people who could "find" a whole lotta emails if they really wanted to -- especially if she keeps on about Keystone.

But it gets better, because today Josh Earnest said this:

At briefings this week after the disclosure of the paltry results, Josh Earnest, the White House press secretary, repeatedly noted that Mr. Obama always had been a skeptic of training Syrian rebels.

Obama being skeptical of his own plan is stunning but somewhat welcome evidence that a sliver of self-awareness has finally arrived at 1600 Penn, albeit nearly seven years into his presidency.

Don't worry though, because I'm sure these same people have totally thought through that whole Iran deal!
