Obama: 'I'm Not Going to Breach a Basic Principle That Would...Change Our Democracy'
on Wed, 9 Oct 2013
At Tuesday’s White House Press Conference, Barack Obama made some rather interesting statements that may not exactly stand up to scrutiny. He said, “You know, I think the American people understand, you know, I may -- not I may, I have flaws. Michelle will tell you. One of them is not that I'm unwilling to compromise.”
That’s one.
“I've been willing to compromise my entire political career.”
That’s two.
“I don't believe that I have the answers to everything and it's my way or the highway.”
That’s three. Usually it’s three strikes and you’re out, but we’re playing by Obama Rules nowadays, so . . .
“But I'm not going to breach a basic principle that would weaken the presidency, change our democracy, and do great damage to ordinary people just in order to go along with what the House Republicans are talking about.”
Great damage to ordinary people? Has he looked at what his economy has done to the number of unemployed people in the United States?
