During DNC ‘unity’ tour, Bernie Sanders says he’s not a Democrat

Liberal leaders are trying to put on their best face as they wage war against President Trump.

But fractures are evident as one of the most popular figures, Sen. Bernie Sanders, acknowledged he’s not even a Democrat — during a “unity” tour stop with Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez.

Both appeared on “All In” on MSNBC Tuesday night.

“So you’re on this road trip now with the head of the DNC, you’re talking about reforming, reviving, transforming the Democratic Party, do you consider yourself a Democrat?” Chris Hayes asked Sanders.

“No, I am an independent,” Sanders responded flatly.
