Setting the record straight.

As the Central Intelligence Agency is scathed over the rough treatment applied to some Al Qaeda plotters after 9/11, agency director John Brennan put the interrogation program into proper perspective on Thursday.

He began by saying, “It was 8:46 a.m. on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001,” and then added:

“In our pain, we pledged to come together as one and do what we could to prevent Osama Bin Laden and his killing machine from ever carrying out another attack on our beautiful country. Our nation, and in particular our agency, did a lot of things right during this difficult time to keep this country strong and secure.”
