Former NBA basketball star Charles Barkley says the rioters in Ferguson are "scumbags" and the grand jury's decision not to prosecute Officer Darren Wilson was correct.

Barkley discussed the case and its aftermath on Philadelphia's 97.5 The Fanatic.

According to Mail Online, Barkley said: "There is no excuse for people to be out there burning down people's businesses, burning down police cars."

He said black neighborhoods would be like "the Wild Wild West...if it wasn't for the cops" and offered that people in "black areas" have to learn that "we can't pick out certain incidentals that don't go our way and act like the cops are all bad."

Barkley suggested the media played a big role in pulling the wool over a lot of people's eyes, but says "the grand jury testimony" presented "the true story."  He declared that reality was in stark opposition to what the media had reported about Michael Brown and Officer Wilson. He then added: "I can't believe anything I hear on television anymore."
