Rush Limbaugh: Obama's Immigration Lawlessness Part of 'War on Suburbs'

on Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh believes President Barack Obama's lawlessness on illegal immigration is just another part of his broader war on America's suburbs.

On his Tuesday radio show, Limbaugh spoke extensively about Stanley Kurtz, the author of Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the CitiesKurtz, as Limbaugh noted, has a theory that "Obama has a war on the suburbs to take people from the inner city and put them in the suburbs via affordable housing right in these suburban neighborhoods."

Limbaugh said Kurtz believes Obama and his friends "resent" people who fled the cities for the suburbs because people like Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder "think that people in suburbia fled the city to get away from minorities, essentially, to get away from the poor" and "to get away from dilapidated buildings and crumbling infrastructure."

"They moved to the suburbs, and they formed these communities, which are clean and prosperous, and it's not fair because the poor couldn't leave; the poor were trapped," he said. "The upwardly mobile, because of their relative affluence, were able to leave and move."

He cited the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing program as a "reverse affirmative action kind of thing," where the federal government mandates "that states integrate by essentially building low-income housing in nicer suburban neighborhoods" if they want their millions in federal funds. He noted that people in New York's Westchester County have been fighting the federal government for years over low-income housing mandates.

Limbaugh asked, "What better way to give a boost to the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Act and the remaking of American neighborhoods than to start injecting illegal immigrant populations into targeted cities and towns in the suburbs all across the country?"

"It fits perfectly with Obama's community organizer roots. You overwhelm the local government's social services with new claimants. That requires higher taxes, higher fees to pay for schools, medical services, disability, unemployment, all that," he said. "Massive redistribution of wealth. You're importing kids. They can't provide for themselves. They don't have any skills yet. They're poor. They need to be totally supported by somebody. Obama to the rescue."

Limbaugh noted that officials in states like Nebraska and Arizona have had illegal immigrant children dumped in local communities without the state's governors or local officials being notified beforehand.

"They're being placed in the homes of people who are either being paid to take them or who are supposedly their family or what have you, but nobody knows how this is happening," Limbaugh said. "It's cut-everybody-down-to-size time. It's time to show the United States what life is really like for everybody else."

Limbaugh said Obama and his allies want to "get even with all of this flight to the suburbs that took place back in the fifties and sixties and seventies" because they believe "it just isn't fair that some people should be able to get out of the hellholes while others have to stay in them."

"And why? Because of the belief they didn't get it fairly. They screwed somebody, they inherited it, or they had an unfair break somewhere along the line," Limbaugh asserted about how leftists such as Obama think. "They committed some great crime--whatever--it just isn't legitimate. Nobody who has a lot of money really could get a lot of money with just pure honesty and talent and hard work. So Obama is here to level the playing field, and he's doing it with the redistribution of wealth."
