Sen. Lindsey Graham has never pulled punches when it comes to criticizing the Obama administration, but the conservative South Carolina lawmaker’s rhetoric has been especially biting in recent weeks.
On Sunday, Mr. Graham called the administration’s nominee for defense secretary, former Sen. Chuck Hagel, “unqualified” and “radical,” and then took a shot at former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, calling her “blind and deaf” when it came to last year’s Sept. 11 Benghazi terror attack that left four Americans dead.
"When Secretary Clinton said she had a clear-eyed view of the threats we faced in Libya … she was not clear-eyed, she was blind and deaf,” Mr. Graham, a Republican, said in an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”
Mr. Graham defended his and other Republicans’ continued opposition to Mr. Hagel.
“I think we’re doing our job to scrutinize one of the most unqualified, radical choices for secretary of defense in a long time,” he said.
