Idaho Gov. Signs Bill Nullifying Federal Gun Laws

Idaho Gov. Signs Bill Nullifying Federal Gun Laws

on Mon, 24 Mar 2014

Less than two weeks after signing a campus carry bill into law, Idaho Governor Butch Otter (R) signed a bill which nullifies future federal gun laws.

The measure passed the house and senate unanimously: 68-0 in the house and 34-0 in the senate.

According to BenSwann.com, the new law will prohibit "state enforcement of any future federal act relating to personal firearms, firearm accessories and ammunition."

Gun Owners of America's Erich Pratt praised the new measure: "By signing the nullification bill into law, Idaho has joined an elite group of states that are telling the feds to 'get lost'--especially when it comes to unconstitutional gun control infringements."

Idaho joins Alaska and Kansas, which have also passed nullification laws.
