Should English be our official Language?

From Newt Gingrich:

Do you believe Congress should pass Official English legislation?
I know this may seem absurd.

But unfortunately, the federal government is spending literally
tens of millions of dollars on wasteful multilingual programs that
continue to undermine our national unity and cohesiveness.

Believe me, for far too long, elected officials of both parties have
pandered to win the so-called “Hispanic Vote” by refusing to vote
on this popular bill.

In fact, you may remember when Barack Obama famously
said, “instead of worrying about whether immigrants can
learn English…you need to make sure your child speaks Spanish.”

However, there are some political leaders who still stand on principle. For example, Speaker Gingrich has been a consistent advocate for our cause from his days back in Congress through his run for the presidency. In fact, he brought up our issue in each debate as well as stump speeches around the country.

I know the majority of Americans share our view – polling shows that more than 80% of voters favor Official English.

Believe me, there’s one thing that all politicians pay attention too. When enough voters speak out, elected officials notice.

So, can I count on you join ProEnglish and sign our petition to pass H.R. 997, The English Language Unity Act, today?

Let’s tell members of Congress that it’s finally time to act!
