Do as Katy Perry says, not as Katy Perry does.
The pop singer, perhaps best known for singing “I Kissed A Girl” and for once being married to petulant gasbag Russell Brand, offered her version of a public policy solution after an Islamic terrorist detonated a nail bomb in the middle of a crowd of Ariana Grande fans.
During a Tuesday appearance on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, Perry called on everyone to “unite” after the attack.
“Whatever we say behind people’s backs, the Internet can be a little bit ruthless as far as fan bases go but I think that the greatest thing we can do is just unite and love on each other,” Perry said, adding, “No barriers, no borders, we all just need to co-exist.”
A YouTube video of the interview, which was posted by the show, has since been deleted.
While Perry calls on the rest of us to live without “barriers” and “borders,” she’s living a comfortable — and secure — existence in Hollywood, California.
In April, Variety reported Perry purchased a “secluded” Beverly Hills home for “around $19,000,000.
An image of the property, provided by Zillow, shows a massive gate blocking the driveway, and a long barrier in the bushes:
It’s hard for Perry to hide behind — no pun intended — the excuse that the 10-foot wall just came with the property.
Zillow Porchlight reported in January 2014 that Perry was failing in her attempt to sell a “Spanish-style estate” she shared with Brand. A picture shows a massive gate across the drive, blocked unwanted members of the unwashed masses from disturbed her Zen.
She eventually sold the property for $5.565 million, according to the real estate site.
Yet another home Perry owned, according to CelebHomes.net, shows a huge wall and gate protecting the owner from all of the little people:
Maybe Perry’s next hit will be, “Walls For Me, But Not For Thee.”
The post Katy Perry calls for ‘no barriers, no borders’ after attack — while living behind gates, wallsappeared first on The American Mirror.
