Following reports that President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.) to serve as director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon commented:
“Rep. Mulvaney voting record reflects his commitment to limited government and economic freedom. A founder and member of the House Freedom Caucus, Rep. Mulvaney became part of the conservative conscience of the lower chamber. These convictions will undoubtedly show in the crafting of President-elect Trump’s budget priorities. President-elect Trump has made yet another solid pick to serve in his administration. We wish Rep. Mulvaney the best of luck and trust him to continue to exert his fiscally conservative principles at OMB.”
Rep. Mulvaney has a 95 percent lifetime score on FreedomWorks’ Congressional Scorecard and is a four-time recipient of the FreedomFighter Award, which recognizes Members of the House and Senate who consistently vote to support economic freedom and individual liberty. He is also a signer to FreedomWorks’ Pro-Growth Pledge, a statement of principles showing the signer’s commitment to economic growth through fundamental tax reform, reductions in spending, regulatory reform, sound money, energy freedom, and patient-centered health care.
FreedomWorks aims to educate, build, and mobilize the largest network of activists advocating the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, free markets, personal liberty and the rule of law. For more information, please visit www.FreedomWorks.org or contact Jason Pye at JPye@FreedomWorks.org.
