Like me, you must be heartened. Democrats in force are condemning Hillary's bald-faced corruption. It proves that truth, morality, and justice triumph. Hallelujah. Harry Reid, the outgoing Senate minority leader, has broken dramatically with Hillary. In a letter to FBI Director James Comey, per USA Today, Reid asserts:
"Your [Director Comey's] actions in recent months have demonstrated a disturbing double standard for the treatment of sensitive information, with what appears to be a clear intent to aid one political party over another," Reid wrote. "I am writing to inform you that my office has determined that these actions may violate the Hatch Act, which bars FBI officials from using their official authority to influence an election. Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law." [emphasis added]
Oops. Seems that Reid is doing the opposite. He's blaming Comey falsely as a diversion. That's right out of the Democrats' playbook. Note that across the mainstream media, lesser Democrats are out in force parroting Reid's talking point: blame the FBI director. That's what Democrats do when their power is threatened: they circle the wagons and mimic whatever their leaders say. Change the focus. Muddy the story. Befuddle voters. Rinse and repeat. Comey's crime, per Democrats: disclosing a renewed Hillary investigation based on the discovery of an estimated 650,000 emails on a laptop in the possession of girl-trolling Anthony Weiner. That's Huma Abedin's estranged beard husband.
The Democratic Party needs to pay an agonizing price for robust support of Hillary (Obama, too, for breaching national security by being on Hillary's private servers and lying about it). There's no wink and a nudge "this is just politics" excuse for Democrats. You know, Reid and Democrats claiming just to be good soldiers. That works in Washington, a city wallowing in cynicism – and with every new revelation, a capitol city riddled with corruption. But elsewhere? Not where honest citizens live.
The Democrats are colluding. They're knowingly aiding and abetting Hillary's criminal conduct -- multiple criminal actions, in fact. Grave breaches of the law that very likely seriously compromised national security. That's your safety and your family's. The violations are obvious. Democrats have no plausible excuses for backing the Clintons.
Writes Andrew C. McCarthy for National Review:
There were other worthy Democrats, but the party chose to nominate the subject of a criminal investigation. That is the Democrats' own recklessness; Jim Comey is not to blame. And if the American people are foolish enough to elect an arrantly corrupt and compromised subject of a criminal investigation as our president, we will have no one to blame but ourselves.
No point in gainsaying McCarthy about there being "other worthy Democrats," but we can most certainly contend with him on a couple of other key points.
McCarthy chides the Democrats for nominating Hillary, who's been the subject of criminal investigation. How could Hillary ever have been in the running for the Democratic nomination given her rap sheet?
The Clintons have been the subjects of scandal and controversy involving legitimate charges of corruption since the 1980s (their Arkansas days). Since the early 1990s, when the Clintons assumed the national stage, yet more scandals – yes, involving not just Bill's tawdry sex life, but corruption. Post Bill's presidency, which featured an impeachment and perjury (leading to his disbarment, a civil rather than criminal penalty; the charges should have been criminal), the Clintons have operated as scammers. The Clinton Foundation is a pay-to-play influence-peddling enterprise. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton evidently traded access for Clinton Foundation "donations."
Hillary and Bill have been damaged goods for three decades and counting. The Clintons are serially corrupt. Politics isn't the land of Dudley Do-rights, but, come on, if the Democrats cared about moral character and probity in its party's presidential nominee they would have marginalized Hillary years ago. In fact, the Clintons would have been shunned at least on January 20, 2001.
As to McCarthy's assertion that the Democrats are "reckless," again, poppycock. They're fully participating in advancing the careers, power, wealth, and prerogatives of Hillary and Bill. This is premeditation. They're accessories. They need to be tagged and treated as such.
Says Newt Gingrich about the Clinton's activities, per NewsMax:
"[The Clintons' activities are] a giant criminal enterprise disguised as a foundation and disguised as a campaign," the former House speaker told Fox News' Sean Hannity"…
The dirty truth is that Democrats and their party hope to profit handsomely from a Clinton restoration, as it's called. Everyone helping return the Clintons to the White House gets a piece of the action. This is about naked ambition and avarice among Democrats.
Richard Nixon was hounded from the presidency for covering up a second-rate burglary at Democratic National Headquarters at the Watergate. A sole transgression in the midst of the 1972 election finally brought down Nixon's presidency in 1974. Today, there are multiple credible allegations of criminality against Hillary and Bill Clinton, and yet the Democrats, who still consider waylaying Nixon a proud legacy, stoutly, aggressively defend their presidential nominee in light of crimes that far surpass Nixon's. And crimes they'll be proven to be.
Will Bill and Hillary ever be brought to justice? Only if Donald Trump is elected president – maybe. The catch is that President Obama would have ever incentive to pardon Hillary, whether or not she wins the presidency (and, yes, she could win). A President Hillary Clinton's DOJ would never pursue criminal charges against Barack Obama for his breach of national security or for cover-ups carried out by Loretta Lynch at his DOJ. Hillary could even pardon her husband and whoever else, should circumstances dictate. Counted among the "whoever else" are plenty of Democrats whose hands are dirty by degrees.
If Hillary Clinton wins the White House expect all hell to break loose. Allegations of wrongdoing will multiply; the proof will keep coming and deepening. Half the nation or more will never reconcile itself to a Clinton presidency. Why should Hillary Clinton ever be trusted? Talk about a cancer on the executive branch.
Clinton's presidency would begin crippled and then go on life-support. Impeachment? That depends on the U.S. House. Would a Republican majority led by Paul Ryan ever attempt impeachment, particularly if the Democrats control the Senate? The Senate is where president Hillary would be tried. Remember the result when Bill was impeached? (Though wouldn't it be ironic to have two President Clintons impeached? Who'd dream that up?)
But burn this into your mind. Hillary Clinton could never have advanced to a presidential nomination and, perhaps, the White House but for the Democratic Party. Democrats are culpable for foisting a looming, shattering disaster on the American people. However this election turns out, make Democrats pay dearly, at ballot boxes and in every way conceivable.
