Dinesh D'Souza has written a New York Times bestseller, which is the source of the blockbuster documentary Hillary's America: The Secret Life of the Democratic Party. In both formats, D'Souza reveals the sordid truth about Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. Each provides a brief history of the Democratic Party, followed by a disclosure of the true Hillary Clinton, including her extensive lies and corruption.
In Hillary's America, D'Souza documents how Democrats transitioned from pro-slavery to pro-enslavement; the longstanding Democratic political war against women; how Hillary Clinton's political mentor was, literally, a cold-blooded gangster, Saul Alinsky; how the Clintons and other Democrats see foreign policy not in terms of national interest, but in terms of personal profit; and how Democratic-controlled cities have turned into hotbeds of crime and corruption. American Thinker interviewed him about his latest projects.
The movie starts out describing D'Souza's conviction for giving a minor political donation to a friend. Because this is technically a violation under the elections law, he was sentenced to jail. After reading the book and seeing the documentary, Americans will understand that the government's prosecution of D'Souza was nothing more than a vendetta. No one else in history has been criminally prosecuted for such a minor offense, and other violators of the same law received only small fines and a warning. It is unequivocally clear that D'Souza was selectively prosecuted for his political activism against Obama and the Democrats – a warning to anyone who politically dissents against them. Compare this to what Hillary Clinton did with her emails and the Clinton Foundation, where she received no punishment – not even a fine. D'Souza wants people to understand that Judge Berman, who sentenced him, "was a Clinton appointee. No American has been locked up for doing what I did. The punishment certainly did not fit the crime, and the process was rigged against me. Sometimes I feel I am fighting a David-versus-Goliath battle. Hillary Clinton is one step ahead of the posse. The big fry never gets caught. I am found guilty, yet when Bill Clinton meets with the A.G., Loretta Lynch, all of sudden there is no investigation of Hillary or the Clinton Foundation. It is a signal to leave her alone. This is the absolute corruption of power."
When asked to compare Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump, D'Souza said no contest. "She is basically Obama plus gangsterism. The Clintons are like Bonnie and Clyde. Their goal is to steal America. As I compared in the documentary, she wants to be what Al Capone was in Chicago. He was a mob boss, and she wants to be the female mob boss. He wanted to loot the treasury with contracts to his friends; she does it with the Clinton Foundation. He wants to get rid of his enemies; she does it by wanting to suppress conservative press. We have lost the PR war because the Democrats control the press, social media, and Hollywood. You can put a lot of misinformation, propaganda, and lies if you control these three."
In supporting Trump, D'Souza says it is not a tough choice. He acknowledges that "Trump shoots himself in the mouth, sometimes saying insensitive things and going off message. But look at the Hillary door, which has a known crook behind it. Conservatives and Republicans should not be talking against him, but trying to stop her. If you do not vote or vote for a third party, you are basically voting for Hillary. People need to get out of the Twilight Zone. I would say the theme of my movie is 'Never Hillary.'"
A lot of time is spent in the book and movie discussing the racism of the Democratic Party. It is interesting how this has become relevant once more with the lack of patriotism of quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who should see the movie. But D'Souza points to the recent emails by DNC staffers that used anti-gay slurs, mocked African-Americans, and humiliated women. The movie and book support what Donald Trump has recently said about the Democrats and blacks: over the years, Democrats have managed to convince black Americans that the Republicans are their enemy and the Democrats are their champions. In fact, the film shows how the Democratic Party is the party of slavery and through the years has kept racism alive and well.
D'Souza asks, "What good have the Democrats done for women and blacks? The answer is nothing. They claim to speak for the little guy, the outsiders, and blacks, but these are fraudulent claims. Just look at recent events. There is no hope and opportunity, because the Democrats don't want to fix anything. They only care about the votes.
"I looked at the Democrats from the end of the 19th century to 2000 and found there to be 1,500 racists compared to a minute amount of Republicans. Also, very few racist Democrats switched to become Republicans. The Democrats are the party of exploitation, theft, the black codes, and slavery, yet they pitch social justice, economic equality, and racial justice. Journalists do not cover this because it is damaging."
The book and documentary are a powerful discussion of America's political history. Both confront leftists with their false narrative. Voters should take away the warning that after eight years of President Obama, and a possible four to eight years of Hillary Clinton as president, America would become unrecognizable. Democrats have transitioned from pro-slavery to pro-enslavement of blacks, corruption would flourish with favors for the politically few, and personal gains would be valued over U.S. national security.
