Days After Record Financial Deal, Obama and Netanyahu Meet

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama plans to meet this week with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu while both are in New York for the U.N. General Assembly.
The leaders will hold talks Wednesday, about a week after the U.S. and Israel signed an unprecedented new security agreement that will give the Israeli military $38 billion over 10 years. It’s the largest such agreement the U.S. has ever had with any country.
The White House says the leaders will discuss advancing a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Iran nuclear deal and other regional security issues. Netanyahu vehemently opposed the Iran agreement.
On Monday, Obama will hold a brief meeting with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang (lee kuh-TYAHNG’) to discuss U.S.-China relations and North Korea.
Obama heads to New York on Sunday afternoon.
