When I pointed out the sinister euphemism "alternative safe pathways" for sneaking in 20 times as many Muslim 'asylum seekers' (like this guy?) as publicly admitted, I had no idea that the head of the Department of Justice, Loretta Lynch, had just outdone anything George Orwell could have dreamed of. But Roger Clegg of NRO and John Hinderaker of Powerline were way ahead of me. Hinderaker calls it the "euphemism of the decade," but given the source, I cannot really imagine it being outdone.
Our Attorney General has just called young criminals "justice-involved youths."
In an effort to help young people involved in the justice system find jobs and housing, the U.S. Departments of Justice and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today announced $1.75 million for Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) and nonprofit legal service organizations to address the challenges justice-involved individuals face when trying to find work and a place to call home. …
"The future of our nation depends upon the future of our young people – including young people who have become involved with our justice system," said Attorney General Lynch. "By helping justice-involved youth find decent jobs and stable housing after they return home, these critical grants provide a foundation for a fresh start and offer a path towards productivity and purpose. In the months ahead, the Department of Justice will continue helping justice-involved youth enrich their lives and improve our country."
Isn't Lynch involved with justice, as head of the DoJ? Isn't she "justice-involved"? How about Hillary Clinton, under investigation by an agency of the Justice Department? That's pretty "justice-involved."
I guess it is the contempt for people evident in this sort of attempt to fool us that bothers me the most. How does someone like Lynch utter or write these words without giggling?
