Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich slammed rival Donald Trump Sunday for the front-runner's ramped-up criticism of the primary process and the Republican National Committee.
"You've got to have a certain number of delegates to be nominated," Kasich said on CNN's "State of the Union." "It's like saying, 'I made an 83 on my math test, so I should get an A just because I think it's rigged that you have to make a 90 to get an A.' "
"I mean, come on. Act like you're a professional. Be a pro," the Ohio governor said.
Trump has called the GOP nomination process "rigged" and accused party leaders of "canceling the vote" in states that hold conventions instead of primaries or caucuses.
Kasich himself has struggled to accumulate enough delegates to clinch the GOP nomination and is relying on a contested convention in July.
There, he says delegates will flip to support him on subsequent ballots and abandon Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
Kasich has 143 delegates to Trump's 743 and Cruz's 545, according to The Associated Press delegate tracker.
