Foreign policy super-genius Obama says Trump doesn't understand how the world works

**Written by Doug Powers

Another Sunday open thread has arrived ahead of some big primaries coming up this week. Here are a few other things I ran across in the last couple of days...

Leading off, from the "Consider the Source" department, we have this:

Donald Trump's recent statement that Japan and South Korea should be allowed to manufacture their own nuclear bombs shows that he "doesn't know much about foreign policy,” President Barack Obama said Friday.

[...]

“They tell us the person who made the statements doesn't know much about foreign policy or nuclear policy or the Korean peninsula or the world generally,” Obama said, adding that Trump’s comments came up “on the sidelines” of the summit.

“I’ve said before that, you know, people pay attention to American elections. What we do is really important to the rest of the world,” Obama said.

Big accusation coming from the president who gave us the reset button, red lines, anti-terror "success stories" like Yemen, the "JV team" that's "contained," golfing 30 seconds after a statement about the beheading of a U.S. journalist, did the wave with Raul Castro at a baseball game in Cuba as Brussels was reeling from a terrorist attack, considers "climate change" America's greatest national security threat and who mocked Romney's insistence that Russia remains a geopolitical foe of the U.S. The list goes on.

How much more foreign policy genius can we possibly handle?

But taunting Trump about his lack of foreign policy knowledge wasn't enough -- Obama wanted to demonstrate his own brilliance in that area:

“Iran so far has followed the letter of the agreement, but the spirit of the agreement involves Iran also sending signals to the world community and businesses that it is not going to be engaging in a range of provocative actions that are going to scare businesses off,” Obama said at a press conference.

How is Iran not following the "spirit" of the deal?

“When they launch ballistic missiles with slogans calling for the destruction of Israel, that makes businesses nervous.”

But apparently it doesn't make Obama nervous. After all, if anything really bad happens it won't be until after he's left office.

Donald Trump has promised that if elected "all of the bad things happening in the U.S." will be rapidly reversed. It's "this is the moment the rise of the oceans began to slow" except more yuge.

How long will it be before some college campuses will be surrounded by signs reminding people "this is a chalk-free zone"?

A video that captures my reaction to the Clintons after all these years: Yawwwwwwwwn.

In closing, a bit of relationship advice:

My wife and I were just arguing about that...

Have a good Sunday all!
