This November looks like a do-or-die election. The stakes couldn't be higher. If we win, we could save the country. If we lose, the Marxi-Jihadi-fascists take over.
But we have something to celebrate. This is the feistiest, most people-involving, most open election since the Lefty-Crony-Jihadist cult took over, headed by the Boomer Left.
One good result today is that the GOP is actually running two conservative-enough candidates, both of them way out in front. The establishment can't believe its collective eyes. They are so confused they are actually showing their real feelings.
I don't know if Trump or Cruz are real conservatives. Since God hasn't recently told us the Divine definition of "conservative," it's a legitimate debate. But notice that nobody is wondering whether T and C are secret Lefto-Jihadist-screw-the-country types. At least we're pretty sure about that.
The same thing can't be said about the creepocrats on the other side.
Today the Washington power class is more corrupt and fragile than it's been since the Stalin-McCarthy years, sixty years ago. They are so far beyond the pale that even the Chief Justice is issuing mutually contradictory opinions on ObamaCare, to ensure that it will pass constitutional muster, no matter how dreadful the reasoning. It usually takes about fifty years for the Supremes to reverse themselves on a fundamental issue, but this time Chief Justice Roberts managed that feat in a few months. Apparently this is our first trendy post-modern Supreme Court, where the law of logical contradiction no longer holds. Unfortunately, it still holds in a place called Reality.
Whoever becomes president next may appoint as many as five new Supremes, who will shape this country for decades to come. We know what the Left wants with all that power. They are control freaks.
We want freedom. They want tyranny.
To make it worse, the United States is facing clear and present danger from Jihad war theology in bed with the militant Left. A lot of our gutless politicians are on the fence, as if there is a choice between good and evil.
This is a time for patriots -- and if you think that word means nothing, please think again. It is high time to revive honest patriotism after decades of Leftist smears against loyalty to country. The Left is dedicated to an internationalist fantasy, and because it's been their stuck belief since Karl Marx, the Bernie Sanders Left is honestly anti-patriotic. As Saul Alinsky said, we are their enemy, and they act on that stupid idea every single day. Especially you-know-who.
Being a patriot today is not a cause for shame. It means you hold country above party or politicians. Our One Party power class elevates phony "international law" over Constitutional legislation and self-disciplined judicial judgments.
They are wrong and we are right.
It's as simple as that.
Don't believe me? Ask Mr. Sanders about his Stalinist past, and watch him dance away. Hillary is no better. The One Party Democrats are running very knackered warhorses, and they know it. (They're keeping Obama clone Liz Warren in reserve, as a big surprise.)
So 25 years after the Soviet Union and Maoist China crumbled in the face of horrific failures, the American Left has resurged on the college campuses, with a new generation of cult victims ready to march back to the future. From college indoctrination they graduate into the Permanent Government in DC.
Scratch Justice Roberts and you'll find a wishy-washy liberal.
Isn't it time to have an old-fashioned slug-it-out American election?
You asked for it, and now you've got it.
If you can let go of the Trump-Cruz cage fight for a second - just one second? - look at the real choice we have.
On one side we have a likely felon and plausible espionage-enabler Hillary Clinton (with Ikhwan loyalist Huma controlling access to Hillary) - competing with unrepentant Stalinist Bernie Sanders.
How about them apples?
On our side we have Ted Cruz, who was just called "my best Harvard Law student" by liberal stalwart Alan Dershowitz.
On the pro-American side we also have Donald Trump, who, for all his faults, has managed to break through the One Party media into the headlines, over and over again. No Republican has done that since Dwight David Eisenhower, or maybe Dick Nixon in his landslide year. Every other GOP candidate has had to cringe to incoming rocket fire from the Organs of Propaganda. Trump may not be an "official" conservative, but look at his policy positions and his spontaneous answers - not those spoof answers -and you're looking at a very normal conservative. (And yes, he paid both Democrats and Republicans in New York, because it's a Democratic Party Machine city).
American conservatism has always been instinctive. Trump is an instinctive guy. He can't cite chapter and verse on why he believes what he believes. But unlike the Left, conservatives have never had to sign a Party Loyalty Oath, recite a credo, or carry a card to prove who they were. As Edmund Burke said two centuries ago, conservatism is not an ideology but a deep, instinctive understanding of human affairs. Marxism is an ideology, totally made up from Friedrich Hegel and philosophical materialism. Jihad is a war theology from the ancient Arabian Desert. Children are indoctrinated in both kinds of cults and never get a chance to deviate from the Party Line, on pain, of, well, a lot of pain.
This time we can't complain that some neutered Republican is running. It's a Choice, not an Echo, and millions of alienated Americans are finally paying attention. A lot of them were called Reagan Democrats the last time they had a chance to be heard. This time they like Trump. Cruz is an intellectual. Both of them are better than the gawd-awful alternative, and if they could ever get over their bulging egos they could be a historic, winning team.
On the third side of the GOP battle we have the establishment, one of the big unmaskings of this election season. They are the old 19th spoils system. They care more about themselves than about the country, even in a time of looming danger.
Which makes this a time for patriots, people who put the country first. If this contest goes to the convention the vultures will pit conservative challengers against each other, to push a Democrat victory at any cost. They are One Party ideologues.
If the candidates care more about themselves than the country, that will be clear enough by convention time.
This is a time of deadly danger, and therefore it's a time to put country first. Our military, cops and many others put their lives on the line for us. This is a time for patriots.
Most elections are about smaller stakes, but half a dozen times in history the country has been in palpable danger of going down. The Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, the two World Wars and the Cold War. Those are the times when we had to hang together or hang separately, as Franklin said.
If Ted and Donald destroy each other, the country will be left to the grubby likes of Hillary and Bernie.
This time we have to demand a higher standard than personal ambition.
Thomas Paine, who was a bit of a pinko himself, had the right words in 1776:
"THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the true patriots.
