Only one outcome matters after terror attacks in France
In the wake of the Islamic terror massacre in France, one asks: Will the West wake up and finally fight this war that is being waged against us on every front in every imaginable way? If recent history is any guide, the answer is no. But I hope I'm wrong.
How often have we heard people say it will take another attack to wake people up? But after each one-more-attack nothing changes (at least not for the better), as the West remains mired in cowardice and complicity. All one need do is look at our rush to import hundreds of thousands of colonizers from Islamic countries and you realize that we've fallen into an even deeper slumber – one that borders on comatose.
Searching for signs these recent attacks will spur a shift in thought, words, and deeds among Western leaders, I find no glimmer of light.
After Friday's Quran-inspired bloodbath, David Cameron said: "I am shocked by events in Paris tonight. Our thoughts and prayers are with the French people. We will do whatever we can to help."
Why Cameron was shocked is anyone's guess. Islamic terror has wreaked havoc around the globe for fourteen consecutive centuries and counting, with a major uptick in attacks in recent years. ISIS is on the rise and recruiting Muslims in every single country. Threats are routinely made against us while many more are plotted and are yet to unfold. Anyone who's shocked by what happened in France has no business being the leader of a nation. Cameron's comments show no evidence that he understands the nature of this fight, the magnitude of it, or what it will take to defeat this enemy.
Angela Merkel said she was "deeply appalled" by the attacks and promised that Germany would help France. This woman has blood on her hands for every innocent person who died on Friday and for those in Europe who will die at the hands of Islamic terror. She lost her right to be appalled when she opened the EU to a Muslim invasion of epic proportions. As for her offer to help France, nothing less than putting an immediate stop to this madness she has wrought upon Europe will suffice. Her comments reveal no wakeup call in the aftermath of the carnage in Paris.
President Hollande made ambiguous statements that stopped short of saying what needed to be said. He vowed that France would stand united and stated that the nation "will not allow itself to be staggered even if today, there is infinite emotion faced with this disaster, this tragedy, which is an abomination, because it is barbarism." He also said: "This is a terrible ordeal that again assails us. We know where it comes from, who these criminals are, who these terrorists are." But for all of that, not a word about Islam, the Quran, or Muslims. He hinted at knowing where the barbarism comes from and who the terrorists are, but did not name them or their source of inspiration: Islam.
Hollande later said this was "an act of war" and pledged France will be "merciless toward the barbarians of the Islamic State group." I hope France will be merciless toward them. But this problem is bigger than ISIS. It is a problem rooted in the teachings of the Quran. It is not just about destroying ISIS (which we must do). It is about destroying all Islamic terror organizations, keeping Muslims out of Western countries, monitoring Muslims already in the country, speaking the truth about Islam, and standing for national pride and Western values.
Sinking to the lowest depth of comments by world leaders was the one and only Barack Obama, who made predictably loathsome remarks about not wanting to speculate about who was responsible (despite his propensity to immediately speculate on other kinds of incidents), about it being an "outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians," and saying that we would do "whatever it takes" to bring them to justice.
As usual, Obama said the very least he could get away with while managing to diminish the horror that befell those who died in Paris in the name of Islam. "Terrorize innocent civilians?" People were murdered. And we know who did it. They're called jihadists. Or you can call them Islamic terrorists. Or devout Muslims. And, I would add, this is much bigger than the notion of bringing the ever-ambiguous "them" to justice. This isn't a criminal trial. This is war. This isn't about justice. It's about protecting and defending our nation.
In addition to our feckless leaders, there are ordinary citizens around the world expressing shock, grief, outrage, and solidarity with France. People are crying, holding candlelight vigils, and singing the French national anthem.
But what will any of it mean in a few weeks? As noted earlier, if recent history offers any indication, it will amount to precious little. Because as always happens after Islamic terror strikes, the one-sided war fades into the background.
Until the next attack.
No one with access to the bullhorn makes the broader case. No one speaks about the threat of Islam and the totalitarian doctrine that is the Quran. No one talks about the need to kill every single Islamic terrorist we can find, to close our borders to Muslims, and to monitor those already in the country with laser-like scrutiny.
Because multiculturalism. Because racism. Because Islamophobia. Because everything and anything imaginable except our survival and our future.
May the victims who fell to terrorists rest in peace. May the jihadists forever burn in hell. And may we finally wake up to the fact that war is being waged against us as bombs go off, shots are fired, knives are drawn, more and more jihadists are recruited, plots are devised, and any one of us on any given day is a potential target.
May God give us strength to wage and win this battle. Because it's them. And evil. Or us. And good.
So far evil is gaining ground.
