Sick of political correctness

Army Officer Delivers Deliciously Scathing Rant On Liberals, Political Correctness

Like many Americans, Jordan Thompson is fed up with the ever-extending shadow of political correctness that’s currently smothering the nation.

The U.S. Army officer and University of Alabama graduate posted a long rant to Facebook Tuesday evening — blasting the Confederate Flag debate, food stamps and everything in-between — and while Thompson undoubtedly posted the message in an emotional state, I think he’s really on to something:

I’m offended that everyone is offended by something.

I’m offended that because I’m a white male, people automatically classify me as privileged, regardless of knowing where I’ve come from or what I’ve been through. I’m offended that our First Amendment has turned into freedom of speech [just as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings]. I’m offended that people assume I’m racist because I believe in economic development by way of Capitalism and a free-market economy.

I’m offended that people who are too afraid to ask for food stamps, disability, or unemployment (because they don’t want a handout) are probably the ones who could use it most, yet the majority of recipients who do in fact receive handouts abuse their “privilege” and continue to make frivolous purchases.

I’m offended that people care more about taking down an outdated Confederate flag but don’t get riled up when their American flag is being burned in the street. I’m offended that people care more about blocking homosexuals from getting married than fixing their own, broken and unstable, heterosexual marriages. I’m offended that fast food workers get paid more than my soldiers yet still expect to get paid more than nurses.

I’m offended by people who claim how offended they are, while they do nothing but gripe about it on their phones or laptops, when they could be writing or calling their respective representatives to actually get something accomplished. I’m offended by the lack of initiative, hard work, and tenacity in this country. I’m offended by complainers who pity themselves and just want to take as much as they can. I’m offended by those who have in fact “made it” yet are too rude to give back to the communities in which they’ve come from.

I’m offended by people who vote for a person based on the party they represent, the race or gender, age or a religion of a candidate… instead of how the candidate proposes to address each issue, respectively. I’m offended by people who aren’t open-minded and think they’re always right, no matter what. I’m offended by people who don’t listen and read and legitimately try to understand unfamiliar concepts before brushing them off. I’m offended of what our country has become.

I don’t claim to know solutions to these issues… eventually maybe we will. I just pray that we can one day change our country for the better. And hope that our offenses can turn into progress.

To be honest, I’m a little offended that it took anyone this long to come out and say these things.

Preach, Jordan.

Fox Host To Chaffetz: GOP Rep Ouster Over Trade Vote ‘Sounds Very Tony Soprano-ish’ [VIDEO]

Fox News’ Neil Cavuto grilled Rep. Jason Chaffetz Wednesday after he booted fellow Republican Rep. Mark Meadows from his subcommittee chairmanship after Meadows’ votee against trade and GOP leadership’s wishes.

In an appearance on “Your World” with Cavuto, Chaffetz told the host that Meadows’ vote was “a factor” in his decision to remove Meadows from the post. However, the host pushed back, telling the House Oversight and Government Reform chairman that the move seemed “very Tony Soprano-ish” in nature.

“It was a factor, but there were a variety of factors in my making that decision and making the change there,” Chaffetz said of the trade vote’s impact. “Mr. Meadows is a good person. He can vote how he wants to vote, but if you’re going to be in a leadership position, I expect a lot of things. I don’t expect you to vote every way I want you to. Left to itself, I did not push him out the door or away from the subcommittee chairmanship based solely on that vote, but there were a variety of factors. [A]s the chairman of that committee those are difficult decisions I need to make.”

“You’re a good guy congressman, but it sounds very Tony Soprano-ish to me,” Cavuto told Chaffetz.

“We, you know, nobody is going to get to see what I see, and sometimes the coach on the field needs to make a change. He’s still a valuable part of our team,” Chaffetz said echoing comments from earlier int he week. “He made some very good comments in questioning today, and expect him to continue to do that in the future.”

Cavuto continued to press Chaffetz over the matter, telling him that many of the newer tea party-backed representatives think House leadership is treating them “like crap” when situations like this arise.

“Wait a minute, congressman. You can understand a lot of these largely Tea Party congressmen feel like well they must…think they’re bulletproof now so they’re treating us like crap and we put them in power and this is a fine thank you for that,” Cavuto said. “He was ticked off…It appears to me a limited teapot, but do you think you and the speaker overreacted?”

“No. First of all, I never communicated with the Speaker beforehand,” Chaffetz said. “I’ve still never directly spoken with him about it.”

Cavuto’s comments come days after conservative radio host Laura Ingraham told Rep. Jim Jordan that the moves by Chaffetz and GOP leadership over Meadows were akin to that of the “mafia.” (RELATED: Ingraham: GOP Leadership Akin To ‘Mafia’ After Stripping Rep Of Committee Post Over Trade Vote)

Chaffetz added to the FNC host that he’s “not out to get” Meadows or anyone else, adding that he considers himself to be a tea partier personally.

Obama To Heckler At WH: ‘Hey, Listen, You Are In My House’

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama was interrupted by an immigration heckler Wednesday in the East Room of the White House as the he delivered remarks about the Supreme Court upcoming decision on same-sex marriage.

According to a White House pool report, the heckler shouted, “no more deportations!” at Obama.

Obama responded, “You know know what? It’s not respectful when you get invited to somebody[‘s house]. You are not going to get a good response from me by interrupting me like this. Shame on you, you shouldn’t be doing this.”

The crowd began to boo and shushing the individual until President Obama asked for the person to be removed.

“Can we escort this person out? Can we have this person removed please,” said the president. “As a general rule, I am just fine with a few hecklers but not when I am up in the house,” he added to laughter from the crowd. “If you are eating the hors d’oeuvres, know what I’m sayin’?, and drinking the booze…”

The president spoke for 15 minutes to the group that was described to be 200 people supporting his LGBT policies. He told attendees that whatever the decision is handed down by the court, the country had come a long way.
