Nearly four out of five Americans say Congress should authorize President Obama to fight ISIS, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.
The survey also found an uptick in support for U.S. ground troops, to 47%, even as a larger number of Americans -- 57% -- disapprove of how Obama is handling the threat posed by ISIS.
The poll was conducted after Obama last week sent lawmakers a draft resolution that would formally authorize the already 6-month-old U.S. military effort against the militant group.
