Obama Tells Us How Stupid He Thinks We Are
BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: So I had to make an emergency trip to Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, and I'm on the airplane. I'm flying out there. I forget what day. The hours are running together. I get an e-mail from a friend of mine in Hawaii.
He said, "I don't believe what I just saw."
So I wrote back, "What did you just see?"
"I just saw the Limbaugh Theorem wide open! Obama's in Brisbane, Australia; he said he just found out that day about Gruber and what he's been saying about Obamacare, and he's livid. He's fit to be tied about it! He's gonna get to the bottom of it, and he didn't know who Gruber was other than he was some sort of advisor."
I said, "This is great. Now people are calling me or sending me e-mails saying that they are seeing examples of the Limbaugh Theorem."
This is so brazen; this is just great. Early Sunday morning in Brisbane, Australia, it was the end of the G20 Summit, and President Obama was at a news conference. Ed Henry from Fox News is there. And he said, "At your Burma town hall a couple days ago you tried to inspire young leaders by saying governments need to be held accountable and responsive to the people.
"Well, I wonder how you square that with your former advisor, Jonathan Gruber, claiming you were not transparent about the health care law because, in his words, the American people -- the voters -- are stupid, and you had to lie to them in order to get this law passed. Did you mislead Americans about the taxes, about keeping your plan in order to get the bill passed, Mr. President?"
OBAMA: No. I -- I did not. Uhhh, I just heard about this... I -- I get well briefed before I come out here. Uh, th-th-the fact that some advisor who never worked on our staff, uhh, expressed an opinion that, uhh, I completely disagree with wuh, uhh, in terms of the voters, is no reflection on the actual process that was run.
RUSH: (laughing) This is unbelievable. This little sound bite of 23 seconds may be more jam-packed with lies than any 23-second presidential sound bite I've ever played for you. "I did not. I just heard about this just now. I get well briefed. I just heard about this. The fact that some advisor who never worked on our staff..." He was in meetings with Obama! Gruber has been bragging about them!
Obama has talked about Gruber being in meetings. Someone who "never worked on our staff, expressed an opinion I completely disagree with." He was not just a member of the staff, he was paid 400 grand alone just for this! We have done the numbers, by the way. Gruber has made almost $6 million in government contracts advising them on various things. Gruber even has his hands in...
What is the other thing he has his hands in? Climate change? No, not climate change. He's got his hands on something like that. He's got his hands on Obamacare, and he's got his hands in advising them on -- oh, amnesty! Gruber has his hands in advising the Regime on amnesty -- when to do it, how to do it, and all that. The guy's deep. He's a rock star with these people.
But there's no difference. Gruber and Obama are the same person, the same guy, the same outlook. That's why Gruber is hired. That's why Gruber is there. And this is the Limbaugh Theorem, folks! This is it right front and center. Obama gets confronted with it and says, "No, I didn't know about this. I'm as mad as you are! I'm livid about this. I'm gonna get to the bottom of this, some advisor running at the mouth."
It just confirms how stupid he thinks you are. That sound bite is an exclamation point to how stupid and gullible Obama believes you to be. He then talks about how the bill was debated and debated and everybody knew what was in it. He continued. After saying he only he read about this recently and he's mad about it -- it's some advisor who never worked on the bill, what have you, blah, blah, blah -- he then added this.
OBAMA: We had a yearlong debate, Ed. I mean, go back and look at your stories. (nervous chuckle) The one thing we can't say is that we did not have a lengthy debate about health care in the United States of America or that it was not adequately covered. I mean, I would just advise all of... (stammers) every press outlet here, go back and pull up every clip, every story, and I think it'll -- it's fair to say that there was not a -- a provision in the health care law that was not extensively debated, uhhh, and was fully transparent.
RUSH: Now, seriously, what are we to do about this? This is sociopathic. There is something terribly wrong here. I mean, this is blatant lying. There's no transparency. He lied 31 times, I think. (interruption) Yeah, at least 23 and maybe 31 times he said, "You keep your doctor if you like your doctor. You keep your plan if you like it." At least 23 times he told that lie.
Pelosi's out there saying, "No, nobody knows what's in this bill. You've got pass the bill to find out what's in it." Nothing about this bill was transparent. Everything about the bill was hidden. The people that wrote the bill didn't know what it said. It was 2,000 or 2,200 pages. People like me and others in the New Media were trying to sound the clarion call to people all over the country.
"What's in this bill is horrible. It's rotten. It's gonna upset everything. It's not good. You're gonna lose health care coverage. It's gonna get more expensive." We warned everybody about it, and he says this? This is just... I don't know what you do with this. There's over 22,000 pages of regulations after the bill was passed that have never been debated. The bill itself was never debated! There were never hearings with experts, people called up.
When you have a piece of legislation like this, normally what happens is there are committees in the Senate and the House that debate with experts on the various proposals so that members of Congress can so-called inform themselves before the vote. There was none of that. This thing was ramrodded through. There was no transparency whatsoever. This is (once again) a blatant, in-our-face lie that is again indicative of how stupid he believes everybody is.
And let me tell you: There's a lesson here.
We've got polling data on Obamacare now.
There's two polls out. One's Gallup, and one comes from the Republican Young Guns program, the YG Network, and it says that the most important issue to voters right now is Obamacare across the board. For 80% of voters, it's the most important issue. For 90% of Democrats, it's the most important issue and for 77% of Republicans, it's the most important issue. For 73% of independents, it's the most important issue.
And a majority, 54%, said they would rather repeal this thing in toto instead of keeping it. Fifty-four percent of the American people, including a lot of Democrats, think Obamacare should be repealed. Here is the Gallup story: "Support for Obamacare continues to decline, with the law hitting a new low in approval, and a new high in disapproval, as the second enrollment period has opened for Americans, according to Gallup.
"Just 37% approve of the Affordable Care Act, 1 percentage point less than the previous low recorded in January... A majority of Americans disapprove of Obamacare, at 56% -- a new high, Gallup said." So let's take an average. We've got 55% of the American people at this stage who oppose this thing and want it repealed, and Obama's out there just lying in everybody's faces right to us about every aspect of this.
And he's doing it within the confines of the Limbaugh Theorem. He just found out about it. "No, this is outrageous!" He's mad. "There's an advisor running around saying this kind of stuff. I mean, there were all kinds of debates. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about, blah, blah, blah. We're gonna get to the bottom of this when I get back to town, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah."
He's making a fool of himself, but he don't care, folks. He doesn't care because public opinion has never mattered to him, because he's been governing against the will of the American people for four of the six years of his Regime, the last four. So public opinion doesn't matter. All of this is just blatant, and I'm gonna tell you something. The way to deal with this...
Not the way to deal with it, but there's a teachable moment. There's something for everybody to learn here. Given the size and scope of Obamacare and given what everybody knows about it now, what Gruber said over and over again... You got Bob Schieffer. Poor old Bob Schieffer on Face the Nation. He was just devastated when he heard what Gruber was saying.
He just can't believe anybody from government would lie like this. He can't believe anybody in a high position of government would talk about the American people this way. Bob Schieffer, after all of his years -- he's dinosaur status now -- can't believe this.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: This is not the first time that Obama has said, "I just found out about this! I just found out when you did. I'm livid. I can't believe this. We're gonna get to the bottom of this." We have a montage, March 2009 through November 2014.
Here's Obama talking about all the various scandals he's faced, and they're not identified. I could go through and tell you after the bite what each one's about, but it doesn't matter. What you heard him say in Brisbane, "I didn't know about this! I just heard about this! I'm as mad about this as you are. I'm gonna get to the bottom of this," blah, blah. We've got countless examples. Here we go...
OBAMA, GRUBER, 11/17/14: Uhhh, I just heard about this... [S]ome advisor who never worked on our staff, uhh, expressed an opinion that, uhh, I completely disagree with ...
OBAMA, IRS SCANDAL, 05/13/13: I first learned about it from the same news reports that I think most people learned about this.
OBAMA, IRS SCANDAL, 05/15/13: Americans are right to be angry about it, and I am angry about it.
OBAMA, OBAMACARE ROLLOUT, 10/21/13: Nobody's madder than me!
OBAMA, FAST & FURIOUS, 10/14/11: I heard on the news about this.
OBAMA, FAST & FURIOUS, 10/18/11: It's very upsetting to me, that somebody showed such bad judgment.
OBAMA, SECRET SERVICE SCANDAL, 04/15/12: If it turns out some of the allegations that have been made in the press are confirmed, then of course I'll be angry.
OBAMA, IRS SCANDAL, 05/13/13: I've got no patience with it! I will not tolerate it!
OBAMA BP GULF OIL DISASTER, 06/03/10: I am furious at this entire situation.
OBAMA IRS SCANDAL, 05/15/13: We're going to hold the responsible parties accountable.
OBAMA, IRS SCANDAL, 05/16/13: (outdoor/rain noise) I certainly did not know anything about the IG Report before the IG Report had been leaked through the press.
OBAMA, IRS SCANDAL, 05/16/13: (outdoor/rain noise) The minute I found out about it, then my main focus is making sure that we get the thing fixed.
OBAMA, WALL STREET BONUSES, 03/18/09: (aircraft noise) People are right to be angry. I'm angry!
OBAMA, AIR FORCE ONE BUZZING MANHATTAN, 04/28/09: (camera clicks) It was something, uhh, we found out, uhh, about along with all of you.
OBAMA, VA SCANDAL, 05/21/2014: I will not stand for it, not as commander-in-chief! None of us should. It is dishonorable, it is disgraceful, and I will not tolerate it. Period.
RUSH: Gotta take a break. I'll tell you what those were about when we get back.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Okay, that montage we just played for you with all of those examples of Obama saying he just heard about this. (summarized) "Some advisor has just been saying this stuff! I'm mad about it. I'm as mad about it as you are, and I'm gonna get to the bottom of it. I'm gonna find out what happened!" The things he was referring to in that montage in order were: Gruber and Obamacare, and the IRS targeting conservatives.
That was in May of 2013. Again, the IRS targeting conservatives May of '13. The Obamacare rollout, the disaster that it was in October of '13. That's when he said, "Nobody's madder than me." Fast & Furious, the gunrunning program designed to do damage to public opinion on the Second Amendment. That was October of 2011. (impression) "I just heard about it on the news!
"I just heard about on the news! I'm mad about it as you are, very upsettin' to me that somebody showed such bad judgment." Secret Service Scandal next, April 15, 2012. Again with the IRS targeting conservatives. He expressed shock and outrage again. The BP Gulf Oil disaster, June 30, 2010. (impression) "I'm furious about that entire situation. I had no idea, and they are lagging so far behind."
IRS targeting again, May of '13, IRS targeting, May of '13, IRS targeting. There's all kinds of revelations that kept coming out about that. With each one, Obama said he had no idea. He just heard about it on the news, just the same time you did. He's just as mad about it as you are. He's not gonna to put up with it. He's gonna get to the bottom of it. Next was bonuses on Wall Street, March of 2009.
(impression) "People are angry. They're right to be angry. I'm angry! This should not be happening." Air Force One flying over Manhattan on April of '09, his donors being flown over Manhattan. He said, "It's something we just found out about along with all of you." He had no idea Air Force One was in the air? And the VA Scandal in May of 2014. All of those, Obama claimed he knew nothing about until you knew.

RUSH: One more sound bite before we go to the break, just to continue to stamp more nails into the coffin of lies that is the Obama administration. This is October 1st of 2009, five years ago. It's on Capitol Hill in Washington during a Senate Finance Committee markup. They're debating amendments to the Obamacare bill. Senator John Kerry who, by the way, once served in Vietnam, the haughty John Kerry spoke about one part of an amendment under discussion and had this to say about it.
KERRY: According to Gruber, who has been our guide on a lot of this, it's somewhere in the vicinity of an $8 billion cost.
RUSH: According to Gruber. They're talking about Obamacare, Senator Kerry says, "According to Gruber, who has been our guide on this, it's somewhere in the vicinity of an $8 billion cost." Would you grab audio sound bite number one? Very quick, very quickly. Gruber, Kerry says, has been our guide on this. Here's Obama yesterday.
RUSH: Right. I have to take a break. Figure it out, folks. It's wide open.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: I have a sound bite from Gruber and an observation about Gruber. We found this June 13th, 2012, PBS FRONTLINE, producer Michael Kirk is interviewing Gruber, and during the interview, Gruber says the following about Obama and Gruber's contribution to health care reform. Now, remember, Obama in Brisbane, Australia, said that he didn't even know who Gruber was. He just found out about this, and he's outraged, gonna get to the bottom of it when he gets home. This idea that some advisor that nobody ever heard of could dictate the way the Regime thinks is silly. Here's Gruber talking about how he and Obama worked together.
GRUBER: Then he gets elected, and to his credit he gets a lot of people, including myself, telling him, "Look, you cannot make this work without the mandate." He says, "Okay, let's do the mandate." And his advisors say, "This might not be the right thing to do." And he says, "You know, this is what the experts are telling me needs to be done, let's make this happen."
RUSH: Gruber is saying Obama deferred to him. This guy has an out-of-control ego. This FRONTLINE in 2012, so two years ago, two and a half. He's saying that he's the one that Obama deferred to, it was his idea. (imitating Gruber/Obama conversation) "We gotta do the mandate, Mr. President." "I don't know, I don't wanna do --" "Yes, you do. You have to do mandate." And, you know what? Obama said this is what the experts are telling me needs to done, so let's make this happen.
So Gruber is telling everybody here that Obama deferred to him, listened to him. Now, I just got a note from a friend who said there's a mischaracterization of Gruber going on out there. He said he's not bragging. Gruber is not out there applauding and yukking and laughing. You gotta understand who Gruber is. Gruber is a professor. All of these audio clips from video where you see and hear Gruber talking to his economics buddies, laughing and applauding how they had to lie to the people because the people are so stupid and they ran this great con and whatever. He said, "The thing you've gotta remember, Gruber is a professor."
He is teaching here! Gruber, in all of these sound bites, is telling everybody else how to do this. He's not bragging how he did it, or not just bragging. That he is instructing. He's telling other people how they can get this done in their own walks of life. So he is encouraging this kind of thing for everybody else, and using it as a teachable moment for like-minded people as him.
