Leland Conway Commentary

For those who are struggling with voting for Mitt Romney because he is an "imperfect candidate." It is true, Romney is imperfect. I’ve said that from the beginning. His record is somewhat spotty at best, wishy washy at worst. But here’s the big differences.

Obama’s record as an extreme leftwing community organizer is flawless and well documented. He’s kept nearly every promise he’s made to the far left in this country and needs only four more years to keep the rest. In other words, he’s steadfast in his ideology regardless of what the people who elected him think (See the unpopular health care bill).

On the other hand, Romney has a record of responding to the political wind…which means if the Tea Party is actually willing to work hard, they can manage him. He’s responsive. Romney stood up for free speech with the current crisis in the middle east, while Obama capitulates and appeases. Romney understands how business works – Obama has never run or even worked for a real business. Romney has turned around an organization in crisis in the 11th hour, Obama has created and exploited crises his entire career.

Romney has a real, honest faith, Obama has something I don’t even recognize and is most likely a complete charade. Most importantly, Romney doesn’t hate the constitution, nor is he on record saying that he wants to drastically alter it as Obama is. Obama will have the opportunity to tip the supreme court in the direction of this significant altering if he is re-elected. Those who choose to sit this election out because Romney is not the perfect candidate will have an equal amount of blame for sending our nation into a thousand years of darkness.
