Last night, radio host Mark Levin said, “Barack Obama is the Pied Piper of paradise.”

Levin was responding to MSNBC morning host Melissa Harris-Perry, who said on Saturday, in part, about America’s founding:

“I’m deeply irritated by [Romney and Ryan’s] notion that the ‘pursuit of happiness’ means money for the richest and that we extricate the capacity of ordinary people to pursue happiness. When they say ‘God and nature give us our rights, not government,’ that is a lovely thing to say as a wealthy white man…But we could not have them until there was a Civil War that allowed the federal government to impose those nature and God-given rights would actually be respected by our government.”

In reply to this, Levin stated:

“Can you imagine somebody being offended by references to our founding? And, yet, they are on the Left. These are people who would throw the Declaration of Independence and Constitution out the window.

“They don’t care. They don’t care, they don’t believe in individual liberty, and they don’t believe the government’s big enough, they don’t believe it’s strong enough, and they never will.

“And when you ask them, as I’ve told you many times, for their blueprint, where’s their constitution, where would they take us - they’ll never give it to you. Because they talk in generalities, they talk about their ‘grand vision for America.’ And they spend most of their time trashing this society.

“They want to talk about the Civil War, they don’t want to talk about jobs, they don’t want to talk about the free enterprise system, they don’t want to talk about housing, they don’t want to talk about school vouchers and school choice - no, no, no. Matter of fact, why don’t we talk about James Buchanan and John Tyler, and we’ll talk about all these other things.

“Just don’t talk about holding them to account, because that you can never do. Because they’re wily, they’re slippery on the Left. And when you want to hold them to something that’s specific and tangible, they talk about their grand ideas. And if you’ll just give it up, ladies and gentleman- give up your assets, give up your income, give it up. If you’ll just give up more and more of it, and your liberty of course - then we’ll be on the way to paradise.
