Inhofe Introduces Bill To Require EPA Appointees Be Confirmed By Senate: 'They Want To Put People Out Of Business' | CNSNews.com
In his effort to ensure EPA regional administrators no longer want to “crucify” domestic energy producers, Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) has introduced a bill requiring the Senate to confirm appointees to these jobs that “have the power of life and death” over employers.
Currently EPA regional directors are appointed by the president without having to undergo Senate confirmation. As a result, the EPA has administrators who are actively trying to force businesses to close:
“This is what they want. They want to put people out of business,” Inhofe said on the Senate floor when introducing the bill as he recounted tales of EPA abuses that have threatened law-abiding companies – and intimidated some to close their doors for fear of the EPA.
